Tank to DPS
1) Issue/Request: [Tank to DPS]
2) Description:
As per my original post in the forum:
https://inequity.forumotion.com/general-f1/aiers-relinquishing-the-gm-role-on-icc-patch-day-t139.htm
I would like to change my MS from tank to dps since i have been tanking for the guild since day one.
And since ICC is coming out, as a new start to everything, i would like to make such a request.
I will of cause ensure that my dps is up to certain degree & the RL will decide if he or her wants to give me a slot.
Thanks.

Re: Tank to DPS
Sigh, this is a loss to the Guild. I wish you would reconsider but if you are tired of tanking, I guess it is not fair to continue compelling you to do so...

Agree, do reconsider. If our aim is to progress in ICC, it'll be better for you to stick to tanking as you are the most geared tank in the guild.

Re: Tank to DPS
The officers have noted the request and will review accordingly. We aim to respond and inform the guild of our decision before the first ICC25 raid.

Re: Tank to DPS
Btw, i note that there is a new rule under the new DKP system which states:-
(1) Main Spec change / Main Toon change. Any MS/MT change will have to be posted on the forums and subject to review and approval. Once approved, in addition to any other conditions the officers may impose and publish on the forums (e.g. possible repricing of items previously looted at OS prices), such raider shall suffer a dkp freeze for 2 raid lockouts where such raider shall not earn any dkp. Please understand that the above penalties are imposed in order to discourage constant MS/MT changes. However, if a MS/MT change is initiated at the officers request, the above penalties shall not apply (though a corresponding post will still be made on the guild forums).
I would like to point out whether is it intended to be DKP freezed? or loot rolls locked out?
Taking the below points for considerations:-
-a regular consistent raider whom requested for a spec change got DKP freeze for 2 weeks
-a new raider that join gets DKP but are loot-locked for 2 weeks until he got a minimum of 200 DKP.
see the difference?
Just my suggestion, but if a raider have been consistently putting in effort in the raid, DKP is considered a "salary", not allowing him to loot is because we need to "settle" him in. BUT not giving DKP for the raids he enter seems to indictate that he is a free laborer, i think MOM will have issues with that.
Can i appeal for this case to be looked at?

There is a lot of reason why i choose not to tank anymore. Various reason are actually meant to be good for the guild, view below:-
-I was the MT for makan & inequity to date, which means that i need to appear in every raid, or minimumally progression raids else you guys lost a geared tank. My life style and RL commitments does not allows me to do that anymore, if i persist in this position, i will either burn myself out or get a divorce. Basically, i need to play slower, lesser days, and regulate my playing hours, i believe a DPS can regulate himself easier than a tank.
And i rather i step down now as MT then halfway thru ICC.
-I have lead multiple raids & been a officer for quite a while, i understand the fact that a good tank must be a regular player. its that simple, i need 3 consistent tank to gear and to bring into raids. Therefore, falls back to point 1 again.
-Doing a spec change doesnt mean that i will STOP tanking, but i need to remove the reliance on me as a MT. I will still gear myself my tanking OS via other means like 10 mans and etc. Going to DPS remove that MT responsibility & burden off me. Afterall DPS is easier to replace than a tank.
-Tanks gears are normally the first to get DE'ed, because of the ratio of the raid set up where normally out of 25 people, only 3 are tanks, and not all of them wear leather. So in general, i do not believe gears are an issues to the other tanks.
-I have actually mention to a few officers way before the merger that i would like to go DPS and stop tanking, but responsibility post-merger have stopped me for doing that for a long time. Now that things have settled down, I hope that I can take this opportunity to step down and away. I just want to be a normal DPS player for now.
-There might be sentiments that my tanking gears ATM are the best and i am sort of "betraying" the guild by changing spec now. But if i dont change now, this will maintain as a vicious cycle, when will i be able to? And i need to because i may not be as regular as previously and u guys will still lost a tank u all gear in ICC which is another evil.
Effort-wise, i believe no-one can doubt the efforts i placed into gearing myself as a MT & as a RL for the guild. I believe, with a clear conscious, that I have done whatever i can for the guild as a leader for pre- to post-merger.
Thus i hope anyone with those sentiments can approach me directly to share with me.
Thanks...
Re: Tank to DPS
I remembered very clearly that you said you would play your druid healer after the guild merge instead of your warrior during the 2nd night meet up where takopachi was there and not continue playing your warrior for raids.
But anyway, if you turn up for raids, i believe everyone will ask you to tank. lol

no lah. i will nvr do a main character change. thats too extreme for me. my aiers got old school ride, so i doubt i will trade it for my omire which to me, just a healer for me to learn more about healing.
Re: Tank to DPS
Ok, this has somehow digressed to a discussion on a new dkp rule. I am going to carry on the discussion on the dkp rule there so people don't have to jump all over the boards. Regarding Aiers' proposed spec change, this will be posted here once the officers have come to a decision

As I mentioned last night, the officers voted and approved the spec change. However, in accordance with the rules posted on the new DKP rules, your DKP will be frozen for 2 raid lockouts (i.e. for 2 raid lockouts that you attend, you will not earn any DKP). Are you still going ahead with the change?
