1) Issue/Request: GBank Epic
2) Description:

Hey guys.

There's a Mail ilvl 264 legs sitting in the bank. Does anyone want it? I'm gonna leave this open for 2 weeks in the hope that someone bids, but if no one, then we may consider selling it on AH to earn gold for the gbank. I really don't want to sell it, but quite silly to just leave it there collecting dust. BTW though, for interested bidders, you should at least be a stone guard. If you're a peon, can also consider. Just post and let the officers know.

Not that great for resto shammies due to lack of haste. You might be better off selling it on AH.

It is selling in the market for around 4k gold. Is there a 25% off for guildies if they wish to purchase? Ofcuz they need to eqiup it.

Probably not... Unlike gems and enchanting mats (which have no dkp value), this item does have a dkp value in our system, and I would not want peeps to start thinking they can use gold to buy dkp! Razz This is also to prevent future abuse when other BOE items drop in ICC, and peeps want to save their dkp by not bidding for the upgrade....

I think what will happen if no one in the guild wants to pay dkp for it, is for us to put the item on the open market for sale but not restrict purchasers to only external parties (I mean, how do we police that anyway? Creative guildies can always just create a bank alt and buy it for their main....). Lets leave this open for another raid lockout, and if no one is interested by next Tue, we'll try to sell it off....

Hi everyone, just two cents of mine.

If by the proposed deadline, the pants has yet to receive any dkp bidding. I propose that the pants should be sold to guildies and not simply be open to AH market. Reason being, selling to our own guildies will directly improve our guild's performance as a whole. Also, to signify that we are a family as a guild, the pants should also be sold to guildies at a discounted price. Discounted by how much? It is up to the officers' discretion, but based on past records, it is about 25%.

For your everyone's reference, please.

Everything - thank you for your note. As mentioned, there is a slight difference between BOE-epics and other items in the gbank (e.g. enchanting mats, food, gems, etc.) as epics are governed by dkp rules. From a guild's perspective, our primary concern is to ensure a transparent and equitable distribution of loot - hence our decision to use dkp (which is a measure of a raider's attendance and committment to the guild's raiding activities) to determine allocation of such loot.

In any case, in summary, it appears that these pants belong in the following category - its valuable enough for people to spend gold on it, but not valuable enough for people to spend dkp. In certain aspects, this is also a reflection of the resources available to raiders - if a raider has tons of gold, such raider would obviously be more willing to spend gold compared to a poor raider. It is not my intent to discriminate against either raider - the rich raider only became rich through effort (or RL moolah), and should not be viewed negatively simply because he is wealthy. However, I don't want to create a situation where people hoard dkp and refuse to bid on BOE items, thinking that a lack of bids would mean the item eventually gets sold and the guildie might pick it up on the cheap through a backdoor. My intent, as I've always indicated, is purely to ensure equitable loot allocation and minimal QQ from raiders in the guild.

Thus, I think we are all agreed that if no DKP bids are received, that the pants would be sold and that everyone (including guildies and non-guildies) should be entitled to bid. However, as everyone is aware, there is no "true" market price for such epics - its a function of how rich/desperate a person is. Accordingly, to me, the fairest way appears to be a sale to the highest bidder, and for the officers (as administrators of the sale process) to publish on the forums the final price obtained to ensure transparency. Regarding discount - again, this brings me back to the above topic of being equitable. If one has to pay full dkp for any item, why should a person then be granted a discount if he is paying gold? I'll put it to an officer's vote next time we have everyone online, but for now, I think my stance is that no discount should be offered for the above reasons.

why do you want to horde dkp? when there are like 2000000 dps and casters in the guild.

To Kenpewpew: Since you have decided to process the BOE epic as such. Guildies can only respect that decision. I have also decided not to purchase the pants anymore.

To Luimez: I am not hoarding dkp, as checked, im now at -9. Also the pants is not worthed bidding dkp because it will eventually be replaced by crafted pants if one were to pursue t10 set bonus thru chest, helm, gloves and shoulders. It will also eventually be replaced by tier10 pants if one were to get pants, gloves, helm and chest.

All in all, the pants is not fantastic considering that it lack the very vitale stats of haste which is considered impt in the views of a restoration shaman. It is however good at this point of time as none of us have yet or capable of achieving any tier10 set bonus. Wearing the BOE epic would increase stats but won't last since it is not the ideal situation. I recommend you sell to the public. Good luck.

I'm sorry to hear that... if you change your mind, do let me know. In any case, the offer above still stands to the guild. Please do post if you're interested in the legs. By the way, as an aside to everyone, pls don't get too hung up on obtaining the absolute most essential BIS piece ever before spending dkp - it just ain't gonna happen. WoW is a game where you improve your toon gradually. In fact, the epics I picked up over the past 2 weeks, will be replaced once new wings open up. Its all part of the process of improving your toon, and through that manner, improving the raid. I'm not gonna teach you guys how to gear, but just want to emphasise that peeps really should consider interim upgrades as well as BiS pieces... So Everything, if the pants above is a sizy upgrade to what you're wearing now, my question is - why not? (of course, if its not an upgrade but more a sidegrade, then ignore the above! Razz)

Guys, we've sold off the first pair for 6.5k. There's one more in the bank if anyone wants to bid for it.
